Weißburgunde
Weißburgunde is the name of Pinot blanc in German. It is a point genetic mutation of Pinot noir. Pinot noir is genetically unstable and will occasionally experience a point mutation in which a wine bears all black fruit except for one cane which produced white fruit.

Pinot blanc gives a wine with fruity aromas, often of apples, melons pineapple, nuts, apricot and lemon and other fruits. It is rather high in acidity. Pinot Blanc wines are usually made for immediate consumption and seldom meant for cellaring. Particularly suitable for meat, seafood and light food. Barrique Pinot Blanc wine can mature with lamb and game.
